BUYING QUESTIONS

Gel Number Plate FAQs

What is the difference between 3D gel and 4D gel number plates?

3D gel plates use domed resin characters for a rounded, glossy finish. 4D styles use precision-cut raised characters with straighter edges, giving the registration a sharper and more defined appearance.

Are gel number plates road legal?

They can be when the complete plate is ordered in a road-legal configuration and meets the current UK requirements for material, character style, spacing and markings. Custom spacing and other show-plate options must not be used on public roads.

What documents are needed for road-legal number plates?

A registered supplier must see documents proving your identity and address, plus your entitlement to use the registration. Examples include a driving licence and a V5C, V750 or V778. See our accepted-documents page before ordering.
